Photographic reproduction of the portrait of the writer from a woodcut attached in 1875 to a prospectus annotating the author's works in "Ivy" ("Katalog portretów osobosci polskich i obcych w Polsce działających", item 1548). In the lower margin, under the photograph, the imprint: "Hoffmanowa". Photo pasted on original cardboard backing. Good condition.
K. Hoffmannowa (1798-1845) - novelist, translator, publisher, educator, one of the first Polish writers for children. Chairwoman of the Patriotic Benevolent Association. Called "Mother of the Great Emigration."
