Władysław Bandurski (1863-1932) - Polish Roman Catholic clergyman, doctor, auxiliary bishop of the Lviv and Vilnius archdioceses, honorary chaplain of the Polish Legions, chief chaplain of the Army of Central Lithuania and chairman of the Board of the Vilnius Branch of the Polish Scouting Association, knight of the Order of Virtuti Militari. The funeral of Wladyslaw Bandurski, which took place on March 10, 2023, was a great national manifestation.
"The last farewell was attended, among others, by the President of the Republic of Poland Ignacy Moscicki, Prime Minister Aleksander Prystor and members of the government, Speakers of the Sejm and Senate, as well as parliamentarians, governors, military delegations from all over the country, representatives of other authorities and institutions. The funeral Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Romuald Yalbrzykowski, Metropolitan of Vilnius, with the participation of Bishops Henryk Przeździecki, Stanisław Kostka Łukomski, Kazimierz Mikołaj Michalkiewicz, and the sermon was delivered by Rev. Prof. Czesław Falkowski. The bishop's body was laid to rest by the legionaries in the crypt under the chapel of St. Peter and Paul. At this time, the artillery on Bouffalova Hill fired 12 cannon shots as a salvo of honor, while a platoon of the 4th Airborne Regiment circled over the cathedral square throughout the service, from which garlands were dropped.
