57th Infantry Regiment - on February 17, 1919, General Dowbor-Muśnicki issued an order to form the 3rd Greater Poland Rifle Regiment. In January 1920, after the formation was incorporated into the Polish Army, it was renamed the 57th Infantry Regiment. Soldiers of the regiment took part in the Greater Poland Uprising, the Polish-Bolshevik war [the Battle of Bobruisk, counter-attack from above the Wieprz River, the Battle of Ciełuszki], in the September Campaign the regiment participated in the Battle of the Bzura River.
