55 Poznan Infantry Regiment - the regiment was formed on the basis of an order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces in the Prussian partition, General Dowbor-Musnicki. Soldiers of the regiment took part in the Polish-Bolshevik War [the Battle of Kliczew, the Battle of Itole, the Battle of Szalcik, the counter-attack from above the Wieprz River, the Battle of Żabinka], in the September Campaign in the Battle of the Bzura River.
