View of the room with Stalin's portrait in the center of the composition - the building of the Potocki Palace after WWII in 1947 was handed over to the Cracow House of Culture, which used it until 1990. On the back stamp: "Photographer Stanislaw Mucha Cracow 20 Jabłonowskich St." and handwritten identifying inscriptions in pencil: "1950 Krakow, Pałac pod Baranami (Rynek Gl. 27), reading room of the Dom Kultury OKZZ [District Commission of Trade Unions] in the empire lounge on the first floor". Very good condition.
S. Mucha (1895-1976) - photographer from Cracow, specialist in panoramic photography. During the First World War he photographed the activities of the Polish Legions. From 1922 he studied law in Cracow and became a photojournalist for the IKC. In 1929 he opened his own atelier in Cracow, focused on landscape photography, as well as documenting the architecture and life of Cracow. He has been a member of the ZPAF since 1952.
