Pieta-figure in polychrome wood. 17th century 35 x 25 x 14 cm.
Pieta, a representation of the Virgin Mary holding the dead Jesus Christ on her lap. The reclining figure of the Virgin Mary with her hands supports Christ's drooping head and his left hand. The sculpture is made of a single piece of wood.
Richly polychromed. The painting with small cracks and losses. Under the gilding, the underlay clay is visible in places. The missing piece of wood in the base and the collar of the mantle, do not affect the overall perception of the sculpture.
