France, 4th quarter of 19th century.
Placed on a rectangular rain barrel with profiled edges - mercury thermometer, with Celsius scale (from "-8" to "+ 50 degrees"); below, a round barometer-aneroid tin (no graduated dial); the whole surrounded by appliqued silver decoration with acanthus leaves, volutes, laurel festoons, oak branches; in the finial placed on the capitol of the column a globe; at the bottom - a shell with a beaten French silver feature and an illegible goldsmith's feature in a rhombus. At the back, a hinged brass support in a wooden frame; at the top, a hanging collar, with the number "3274" beaten on the signboard.
