Metal, chrome-plated model of the ORP Lightning ship. Cast metal, chrome plated, painted wooden base. Poland, 1930s.or 1940s. XX century. Very intricately made model of the famous ship of the Polish Navy. Each gun movable, all elements very accurately cast. Bands painted. Base painted with visible chipping of paint layer. There are 3 small elements missing - probably cannons. Dimensions: base: 38.5 x 10.5 cm, model: 30.5 x 12 cm.
ORP Blyskawica - Polish destroyer, one of two Grom-type ships built, introduced into service in the Navy in 1937. It participated in World War II operations from the first to the last days of fighting in Europe, operating in the Atlantic, North Sea and Mediterranean.
