People's referendum 1946 - a rigged referendum held in Poland on June 30, 1946, based on the following laws: the law on the people's vote passed by the National People's Council on April 27, 1946 (defining the content of the referendum questions and the date of the vote) and the law on the conduct of the people's vote (defining the ordinance of the vote) passed by the National People's Council on April 28, 1946. The law on the people's vote was passed unanimously (the Polish People's Party also voted for it). The law on the conduct of the People's Vote was passed with the opposition of PSL deputies, in the face of the refusal of the PPR and satellite parties to introduce the principle of compulsory participation in election commissions at all levels by one representative of each legally operating political party (to prevent falsification in the counting of votes).
