[SITO Jerzy Stanislaw]. Two handwritten letters from Jerzy S. Sita to Zdzislaw Najder, dated December 1967.
Three-page letter form. A5, no date (before Christmas 1967) and double-sided letter form. A4, dated. Dec. 30, 1967. first letter on letterhead of Saybrock College, Yale University, printed on Alexander Janta correspondence sheet. As a return address the author gave the address of A. Janta, with whom he probably stayed. The first letter concerns a planned lecture in Berkeley and attempts to arrange details with Milosz. The second letter is devoted to similar matters: Milosz arranged a reading at the Slavic Center, Kott invited Sita to a seminar ("so I won't die of hunger"). The sender also writes about his upcoming plans (a trip to the west coast). Good condition.
J. S. Sito (1934-2011) - poet, translator, diplomat. He was a member of the London-based poetry group Continents, and has translated many of Shakespeare's plays. He was a theater reviewer and director of theaters in Poland.
