London, June 8, 1946.
British victory parade held on June 8, 1946 to celebrate the victory over Germany and Japan in World War II. A very big controversy during the parade was the exclusion of Polish soldiers, who, fighting in the Polish Armed Forces in the West, were one of the more numerous fighting nations on the side of the Allied forces. The only Polish combat organization invited to participate in the parade were the pilots of 303 Squadron, who were supposed to march in the ranks of the RAF, but declined after other Polish troops were not invited to the parade.
