Ignacy Friedman [1882-1948] - Polish pianist, composer and pedagogue of Jewish origin. A student of Theodor Leschetizky in Vienna, he studied musicology with Guido Adler. He made his debut on November 22, 1904 in Vienna, where he performed piano concertos by Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Liszt. Already this first concert brought him fame and secured his place among the leading virtuosos of the era. During his more than 40 years on the stage, he gave more than 2,800 concerts around the world.
