The Cisalpine Republic, established on 29.06.1797, existed until 26.01.1802, when it was transformed into the Italian Republic. The Polish army was called the "Polish Positive Corps."
The collection includes 27 objects from 1798-1802, the period of operations under the Republic. Among the most interesting are letters from Gen. H. Dabrowski, advising of problems with housing and supplies, a letter from Gen. J. Wielhorski regarding the command of the square in Mantua, or a letter from Gen. Kosinski, commanding Polish troops in Mantua, written to Gen. Foissac. Language of correspondence: French, Italian.
