Book in original half cloth binding, with preserved wrapper. Very good condition.
A. Rubinstein (1887-1982) - Polish pianist, virtuoso of Jewish origin, lived abroad since 1939.
K. Wierzynski (1894-1969) - Polish poet, prose writer, essayist. Together with J. Tuwim, A. Slonimski, J. Iwaszkiewicz and J. Lechon, he founded the poetic group Skamander. He was a regular contributor to the monthly magazine Skamander, Literary News, literary and theatrical reviewer for Gazeta Polska, edited Przegląd Sportowy and the weekly Kultura. In September 1939, evacuated with the editorial team of Gazeta Polska, he arrived in Lviv. After the war, in exile, he collaborated with the London-based Wiadomosci under the editorship of M. Grydzewski, published in London emigration publications and the Paris Literary Institute (Library of "Culture"), and worked with Radio Free Europe.
