[WOŹNIAKOWSKI Jacek]. Two handwritten letters by Jacek Woźniakowski, dated. August 23, 1976 in Osie and September 14, 1976 in Warsaw.
Letters on ark. 20.5x13.5 (single-sided) and 30x21 cm (double-sided). Both letters concern the planned and realized stay of Mr. and Mrs. Wozniak at the Najders' in Silesia. In the first letter they announce their arrival in Katowice in the early afternoon of August 31. The second letter contains thanks for their warm hospitality and brief information about mutual friends. E.g.: "News has arrived that Jan has received a 1/2 scholarship to Atlantic College [...] and that the British Council will have to examine him (but probably only half an exam? And half Jan will send?)". Attached is an occasional card with handwritten greetings. Folding of the second letter, otherwise good condition.
J. Woźniakowski (1920-2012) - art historian, writer, essayist, journalist, publisher, translator of fiction, president of Cracow in 1990-1991, professor at the Catholic University of Lublin.
