[MICIÑSKA Anna]. Two manuscript letters dated. 12 July and 11 September 1974 in Zakopane.
Two-sided letters on two and four A4 pages. The first letter concerns an article to be published in the pages of "Twórczość," and mentions a book being prepared for publication. The article is "On the margin of 'Narkotyki' and 'Unwashed Souls' by St. I. Witkiewicz," and the book is "Drugs. Unwashed Souls." In the second letter, the author raises the issue of printing fragments of "Unwashed Souls" (which she caressingly called "Duszyczki"), without her knowledge, in various magazines ("Literatura Ludowa", "Teksty", "Przekrój"). In view of the planned publication of part of this text in "Twórczość", Micińska recommends checking whether the fragment selected by the editors has not previously appeared in print. Traces of folding, good condition. Letters without envelopes.
A. Micińska (1939-2001) - literary historian, literary critic, expert on Witkacy's work, editor of his texts and caretaker of the legacy deposited in the Tatra Museum. "Anna Micińska devoted her entire academic life to the person of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz. Witkiewicz was a close friend of her father's, and she claimed to feel a spiritual kinship with the author of 'Szewcy'. As one of the reasons for this kinship, she presented a "symbolic meeting" in September 1939, when Witkacy and Boleslaw Micinski, accompanied by his pregnant wife, met for the last time at the railroad station in Lukow, in a crowd of refugees from shelled Warsaw. (Anna was born shortly thereafter, in December)" (Wikipedia).
