[SZYMBORSKA Wisława]. Handwritten "pastedown" of Wislawa Szymborska with New Year's greetings addressed from Cracow to Danuta Herbert-Ulam in Paris in the mid-1980s.
Sheet of stiff black paper form. 10.5x15 cm. On one side pasted fragments of texts cut out from magazines, as well as three gold stars; in the lower right corner handwritten note: "Wisława wishes". The poet wishes her friend, in addition to all good fortune, an award, clients, 10 jeeps, consultations with the local government, 50 grams of chopped almonds, Rudolph Valentino, access to the bay and many other things. Preserved original envelope hand-addressed by Szymborska, with a return address written by the same hand (19 Chocimska Street). The addressee of the correspondence is Danuta Herbert-Ulam, cousin of Zbigniew Herbert, wife of the prominent physicist Juliusz Ulam. Very good condition.
