(LUBLIN, Manor).
A collection of 7 documents relating to the manor of Slawin near Lublin of the Wyrzykowski family of the Ślepowron coat of arms. Dated Slawin 1839-40 or no date. 1 document - 34 x 21 cm, 3 documents of about 17 x 18 cm and 3 of about 10 x 11 cm. Polish language.
Rare collection of manuscripts concerning daily life in the manor. The estate of Slawin near Lublin (now within the city) was bought in the second half of the 18th century by Tomasz Wyrzykowski the Podlasie hunter. Neighboring Slawinek belonged to Kosciuszko's uncle at the time. The set includes a unique extensive contract with Jan Szpot (the forerunner of today's car repair shops) for carriage repairs. There are 6 sheets of paper with notes from Wyrzykowska or her steward as to the repair of the manor house or settlements with family and craftsmen, e.g. "The Jew muller walled up the loophole in the cellar". , "Mr. Thaddeus took PLN 1400", "the chancellery for rewriting the judgment". There is also a confirmation of taking money from Wasiutyński. These types of documents of the daily life of landowners are rarely found on the antiquarian market. Good condition.
