[SZYMBORSKA Wisława]. Handwritten letter from Wislawa Szymborska decorated with the writer's own "pastedowns," addressed to Danuta Herbert-Ulam in Paris, dated. May 1, 1974 in Cracow.
Sheet of stiff paper form. 10.4x14.7 cm. On one side glued cut out from magazines male legs dressed in antique decorative pants and stockings. The poet, reproaching herself for neglecting her correspondence, writes: "Cattle of me." She misses: "I would give a lot to suddenly now find myself in Paris and hug you and talk to you for all the years that do nothing but pass.... What idiocy, that time should always have to go in one and only one direction!". He ends with a thank you: "Thank you for your attention and cordiality to my poems. If you care at least a little, I'm already happy!". Preserved original envelope hand-addressed by Szymborska, return address written by the same hand (19 Chocimska Street). The addressee of the correspondence is Danuta Herbert-Ulam, cousin of Zbigniew Herbert, wife of prominent physicist Juliusz Ulam. Very good condition.
