[GÓRSKI Karol]. Two handwritten letters by Karol Górski and one postcard, dated. 27 II, 28 V and 3 VIII 1977 in Torun.
One-sided letters on ark. 17.3xz16.5 and 26.7x20.8 cm. Two topics are discussed in the correspondence. The first is the search for an issue of "Life of Volhynia" with an article by Kazimierz Górski (Karol's father). The author of the letter did not have the magazine, he suggested: "it could be found in Lviv, but how to get there?". Najder managed to get the magazine, Górski asks to make a photocopy of the interesting text. The second topic is the interesting information the author of the letter acquired. He reached a witness who remembers Joseph Conrad's visit to Eliza Orzeszkowa in Druskininkai. This news, probably as poorly documented, was not included in the biography of the writer compiled by Najder. Very good condition. Letters without envelopes.
K. Górski (1903-1988) - historian, professor at M. Copern University in Torun, researcher of the history of the Teutonic Order and the past of Pomerania. "Karol Górski belonged to those few Polish historians who can be counted among European scholars" (Wikipedia).
