Józef Wybicki (1747-1822) - Polish writer and politician, chamberlain of Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Author of "Song of the Polish Legions in Italy" - later the Polish national anthem Mazurek Dabrowski. Mikolaj Akielewicz (1829-1887), promoter of the Lithuanian language, publisher of books in this language, poet and translator. He published in "Gazeta Codzienna" and "Kurier Wileński". Associated with the Lambert Hotel. Binding: brown leather, embossed. Gilt decorations on the spine. Unwarranted rubbing of binding, single rust spots on pages in places. On the facing page exlibris Biblioth. de Mr. Thiry. Title of the book in Polish translation: The Art of the Poet and Speaker, a work designed to guide the study and formation of the taste of young people and those concerned with literature; preceded by an essay on education. Good condition. Great rarity.
