The plebiscite in Upper Silesia (German: Volksabstimmung in Oberschlesien) - one of two plebiscites concerning the ethnic Polish-German borderland, which was designated in 1919 in the Versailles peace treaty that ended World War I. The plebiscite was held on March 20, 1921, and was preceded by two uprisings by the Upper Silesian population demanding that the region be annexed to Poland.
