Adam Tarnowski (born March 2, 1892 in Jakubow, died May 9, 1956 in Dartford) - Polish diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Tomasz Arciszewski.
Son of Ludwik Tarnowski and Helena née Rudnicka. He earned a master's degree in law from the University of Warsaw and a bachelor's degree in political science from the School of Political Science in Paris. From September 1914 to October 1915 he served in the Legions.
From January 15, 1919 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: until September 1919 as a clerk in the Lithuanian-Byelorussian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, until June 1923 in the Political and Economic Department, during which time he was simultaneously from August 6 to September 6, 1920 a member of the delegation to the conference of the Baltic States in Bulduri near Riga, from August 6, 1922 he was secretary in the Secretariat of Foreign Minister Gabriel Narutowicz. From August 1, 1923 he was the First Secretary of Legation at the Polish Embassy in Paris, and from October 1, 1923 at the Diplomatic Department, from February 16 to October 31, 1924 he was the First Secretary of Legation at the Polish Embassy in Moscow, from October 26, 1925 he was Counselor to the Ministry, from January 1, 1927 he was Head of the Department of International Organizations at the Political and Economic Department, from June 1, 1930 to March 2, 1941 he was Extraordinary Deputy and Plenipotentiary Minister in Sofia. Member of the Grand National Lodge "Copernicus."
Until March 2, 1941 he was MP in Sofia, then until September 1, 1941 he was Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry in London. He belonged to the opponents of the Sikorski-Mayski Agreement.
From November 29, 1944 to February 10, 1949, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Tomasz Arciszewski (from November 29, 1944 to July 2, 1947), not belonging to any party
