[SZYMBORSKA Wisława]. Handwritten letter from Wislawa Szymborska decorated with the writer's own handwritten "stickers," addressed to Danuta Herbert-Ulam in Paris, dated. 8 May 1975 in Cracow.
Sheet of stiff paper form. 10.4x14.7 cm. On both sides pasted fragments of texts cut out from magazines (e.g., "4 A class row seeders"), deer head, man's face. "Spring in Krakow, the air stinks and smells alternately [!] - and this with exhaust fumes, and this with flowering bushes on the plantations. It's a pity that the human nose is not selective and has to smell everything at once." Szymborska, concluding this short letter, expresses her hope that "we will all meet again in a heap." Preserved original (?) envelope hand-addressed and sealed with a sticker with the poet's address printed on it. The addressee of the correspondence is Danuta Herbert-Ulam, cousin of Zbigniew Herbert, wife of prominent physicist Juliusz Ulam. Very good condition.
