SZARFENBERG Nicholas (d. 1606).
Deed of transfer of 150 zlotys to Jan Przelęcki, Rawa 25 May 1570, Dimension 10.5 x 18 cm.
Manuscript by the hand of the famous printer of the Renaissance era Mikolaj Szarfenberg son of the printer Mark. He ran an office in Krakow on Grodzka Street where he had a privilege from kings Zygmunt August and Stefan Batory to print Statutes and Constitutions of the Sejm. The Szarfenbergs published the Leopolita Bible and the first printings of Mikołaj Rej. Notched margin for inserting a sheet to reflect the signet wafer seal. On the reverse, legible imprint with the Szarfenbergs' coat of arms (half goat) and monogram "NS". Manuscripts of famous printers from the Jagiellonian era are very rare on the antiquarian market. Good condition.
