[RomanAFTANAZY ]. Two typescript letters from Roman Aftanazy to Zdzislaw Najder, dated. 12 VI and 10 VII 1975 in Wroclaw.
Letter form. A4 (double-sided) and A5 (single-sided), both hand-signed with full name. The letters relate mainly to Ukrainian towns associated with the Korzeniowski family (Zhytomyr, Luczyn, Oratow). The photographs of the sites there in the possession of the letter's author were taken by trusted people on the spot, sent through private channels. "Of course, you cannot expect any facilitation from official factors. Quite the contrary, as you have convinced yourself." Folding marks, minor staining.
R. Aftanazy (1914-2004) - historian and librarian, associated almost throughout his professional life with the Ossolineum Library in Lviv and Wroclaw. Aftanazy's life's work was the eleven-volume "History of Residences on the Former Borderlands of the Republic" (1986-1993 and 1991-1997), materials for which he collected at his own expense since the interwar years. He willingly shared his vast knowledge with others, as evidenced by the letters offered here. It is clear from them that the phrase ending one of the letters: "It will give me great pleasure if I still prove useful to you in anything" was not just a formula of politeness.
