[PIŁSUDSKA Wanda]. Handwritten letter from Wanda Pilsudska to her mother Alexandra in London, dated. July 4, 1949 in Newport, Isle of Wight County (postmarked data).
Double-sided manuscript on ark. 22.5x17.7 cm, in Polish. The author writes about the beautiful sunny weather and high temperatures; they caused "the proverbial green English lawns [to be] completely yellow and gray, the flowers dried up [...] because they do not know the custom of watering here and are patiently waiting for rain." In the second part of the letter, Wanda Pilsudska sympathizes with her mother, who is suffering from a toothache. She invites her to come to her place for a rest. "And in the meantime write a note how you feel. It's a pity that there is no phone at home and I can't call and ask you." Preserved original envelope, very good condition.
