[MALCZEWSKI Jacek, letter]. Handwritten letter by Jacek Malczewski to unnamed Popielecki, dated. June 4, 1912.
Manuscript on one page form. 17.4x11.2 cm., next 3 pages blank. The author informs that he returned from "Sącz Nowy", where he talked with Mrs. Gralewska. She gave Malczewski a verbal response to a letter she had received from Popielecki. Malczewski repeated the reply to Antoni Gralewski, as a "more professional" person, and the latter undertook to pass it on to Popielecki. No data is available as to whether this method of transmitting information was successful. The letter ends with a more specific phrase: "Gralewska asks for a loan - presents a promissory note." Preserved envelope. Good condition.
J. Malczewski (1854-1929) - painter, one of the most prominent figures in the artistic life of the Young Poland period.
