[LUTOSŁAWSKI Wincenty]. A collection of small mementos (photographs, business cards, stamps) of Vincent Lutoslawski.
Objects came from W. Lutoslawski's desk and were donated by his heirs. The collection includes:
1. a visiting ticket from Wincenty Lutoslawski with a Warsaw address and a copper plate with the scholar's name engraved on it, serving as a matrix for a larger-format business card
2. a brass seal plunger (diameter 2.3 cm) with a turned wooden handle
3. a gold-colored snuff box with enamel letter W
4. 18 photographs depicting Lutosławski in his old age (plus 4 doubles), approx. 6x8.5 cm in size
5. 3 celluloid negatives.
All items in good to very good condition.
W. Lutoslawski (1863-1954) - professor of philosophy, publicist, political activist, polyglot, creator and publisher of "Eleusis" magazine, defender of Polishness in Gdansk, pioneer of yoga in Poland. He taught at Jagiellonian and Vilnius Universities. Among his greatest contributions is the chronological arrangement of Plato's "Dialogues."
