Two letters and a notification from 1939, of wounded, Polish soldier Karol Rudkowski.
The first was written to his mother from a Lvov hospital.
The son reports that he was shot in the leg, which he probably received during the activities of the September campaign.
The next document chronologically is a notification from the State General Hospital in Lviv informing of Karol's death on 17.11.1939. The notification was sent from the Russian-occupied city, to Trzebinia, in the German part of Poland.
The second letter was written on December 4, 1939 by a friend of the deceased. He confirms to his mother the death of her son and informs her of his funeral. Interestingly, he mentions his passage to the German side across the green border. The letter is taped with adhesive tape.
