Letter from the Scout Post Office from the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.
Folded letter. from Zurawia St. to Sienna St. (Srodmiescie Pld to Pln.) with a postmark POCZTA POLOWA WARSZAWA PŁD with a scout lily (Gryżewski type 7). Censorship stamp type 5. In the letter information about himself and a request for a reply. The house at 57 Sienna Street was located in the area settled by the Aryans, during the gradual liquidation and reduction of the ghetto area (the first stage- a wall separating the ghetto from the rest of the city was erected along Sienna Street, and odd numbers were incorporated into the ghetto. The Sienna area was manned by units of the Chrobry II grouping (its command was stationed at 41/45 Sienna Street). The shipment had to be carried under fire, through a shallow cut through Jerozolimskie Avenues (formerly Al.Sikorskiego), on Krucza Street, the only one connecting the two parts of Sienna.
