Stanislas King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine and Bar appoints Nicolas Richard as royal procurator at the tribunal of Saint-Dié.
By edict of June 1751, Stanislas Leszczynski modified the administrative division of the Duchy of Lorraine and the Duchy of Bar in terms of the number of so-called bailiwat (French: bailliage), defining judicial districts - the beginning of the document refers to this reform. For larger cities, a bailiwick consisted of 12 officials.
The document dates from the period when Stanislaw Leszczynski, after reigning twice as King of Poland (1705-1709 and 1733-1736), was forced to renounce the Polish crown and settle in France as Duke of Lorraine and Bar.
