New Year's greetings for 1869. Patriotic print on celluloid (?) film, [France?] 1869.
In the center, a patriotic composition with a depiction of a man in a Kraków outfit and a girl; between them two angels support an ornamental shield-cartouche with the coats of arms of Lithuania and the Crown and a royal crown. Above the crown is an inscription with greetings: "With best wishes for the New Year 1869." In turn, under the composition, the inscription: "God save Poland, and to her longing children return your beloved mother."
The entire composition is enclosed in a geometric decorative border, where patriotic sentences are placed on each side: l.b.. "God be father over Thy children. After all, our Mother we ask for Poland."; top: "Brotherly love embracing all classes is the salvation of Poland"; bottom: "And As the days of trial are skonen, there will be moments[...] of sons loving the Mother; inscription on the right illegible (missing).
Dimensions: 12 x 7.4 cm.
Condition: serious loss in the right corner, overlapping the composition. Loss on the lower margin, 2 corners and a fragment of the left side.

Unique. Due to the fragility of the material and strictly utilitarian nature, an extremely rare patriotic souvenir from the period after the January Uprising.
