The Provisional Council of State in the Kingdom of Poland - a Polish civic emancipation body established in January 1917 by the German and Austro-Hungarian occupation authorities in the Kingdom of Poland. The Provisional Council of State was established on the basis of decrees issued by the Governors General of Warsaw and Lublin on December 6, 1916. The creation of this body marked the beginning of the implementation of the promises contained in the November 5 act. The inauguration of the Provisional Council of State took place on January 14, 1917, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, where the Governors General of Warsaw and Lublin handed out nomination decrees to the members]. The Council functioned for only a few months. It ended its activities on August 30, 1917 as a result of self-dissolution during the oath crisis.
