[SZYMBORSKA Wisława]. Handwritten "pastedown" of Wislawa Szymborska with a short letter addressed to Danuta Herbert-Ulam in Paris, dated. 16 VI 2008 in Cracow.
Sheet of stiff light yellow paper form. 14.7x10.4 cm. On one side glued image of a sage immersed in meditation and a clipping with the imprint "do not give interviews". On the back a handwritten correspondence signed "Visława". The author of the letter writes about unsuccessful attempts to reach the addressee, mentions plans to go "to the countryside, where I have a den." The letter is addressed to Danuta Herbert-Ulam, Zbigniew Herbert's cousin and wife of prominent physicist Juliusz Ulam. Preserved envelope addressed by the writer's hand, with her address sticker on the back. Very good condition.
W. Szymborska (1923-2012) - poet, essayist, critic, translator, columnist, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1996, founder of the Polish Writers' Association in 1989.
