[WAJDA Andrzej]. Handwritten letter regarding the film adaptation of "Smugi cienia," dated. 6 X 1975 in Albena.
Double-sided letter on 3 pages of A5 format, signed with full name. Letter paper with "Andrzej Wajda" printed on it. The letter concerns work on the film "Smuga cienia". Wajda writes about the difficulties encountered by the ship "Regina Maris" in reaching Albena, where the film crew was waiting for it. Scenes in the Officers' House were then shot: "the whole huge piece at the beginning of the film." He reports: "Since 3go [X 1975] we have been working on the ship, which is really beautiful and well maintained. The crew b. nice and made up of incredible types. I think something of this will transfer to the screen." He also writes about the construction of a stage set to turn Varna's port into Bangkok's waterfront. Attached is an excerpt from an earlier letter touching on the translation of Conrad's text, rehearsal shooting, and a planned meeting with actors. Very good condition. Letter without envelope.
