[FILM, screenplay 2]. Screenplay of the film "Hubal" according to the script by Jan Józef Szczepański, compiled by. Bohdan Poręba. 1971.
Typescript on 209 A4 size pages. The screenplay bearing the original title "Crazy Major" was created at the "Nike" Film Group. It was based on a script by Jan Józef Szczepański, published in the monthly magazine "Dialog" in 1969. Poręba removed several scenes in the screenplay, in his opinion, too controversial (e.g., Hubal's affair with a peasant woman, the shooting of German prisoners of war). Szczepanski did not agree to such interference with the text and withdrew his name from the credits. The film premiered in 1973, directed by Bohdan Poręba and starring Ryszard Filipski. It portrays the fate of "the cavalry unit of Major Henryk Dobrzański (alias Hubal), the last regular unit of the armies of the Second Republic, which did not lay down its arms after losing the September campaign" (Wikipedia). Scattered folds of many sheets, otherwise good condition.
