Biography
From 1938 he studied painting under P. Dadlez and K. Sichulski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. During the occupation, he continued his studies with F. Pautsch at the Kunstgewerbeschule. After the end of the war, he studied acting and directing in 1945-46 at the Drama Studio at the Old Theater in Cracow, at the same time he graduated from the Youth Film Workshop in 1945. He was a member of the Cracow Group and participated in Modern Art Exhibitions in Cracow and Warsaw. He was involved in painting, drawing, stage design and acting (he performed in Tadeusz Kantor's underground theater and, after the war, in his Cricot 2 theater) and wrote poetry. His paintings are classified as surrealistic, metaphorical and dreamlike. Favorite motifs include beautiful women, animals, flowers treated conventionally, filling the picture space.
