It was published in Lviv during the Austrian partition and since 1918 in the Second Polish Republic. In 1810-1918 "Gazeta Lwowska" was the press organ of the Austrian partition authorities and initially limited itself to publishing official announcements, but from 1873, when Wladyslaw Lozinski took over as editor-in-chief, it published domestic and foreign news and columns. Among the contributors to the newspaper were Adam Krechowiecki, Ludwik Kubala, brothers Walery and Wladyslaw Lozinski, Karol Szajnocha, Jozef Szujski, Alfred Wysocki, Stanislaw Zachariasiewicz. The journal was published "every weekday afternoon." Rare.
