Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: AU
Reference: Kopicki 695 (R3)

Both a rare and beautifully preserved coin.

A crown shilling, towards the attribution of which there is still debate. The issue is described by some researchers as a Bydgoszcz issue, but is most likely one of the last Malbork sherds, as indicated by the cylindrical embossing and indications of active Malbork activity in those years. Arguments on this subject are interestingly presented, among others, in"Szeląg Zygmunt III Waza" by Dariusz Marzęta (pp. 32-34).

Type with shields of arms (of Poland and Lithuania) on the reverse.
