Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: F
Reference: Kopicki (-)

A very rare mint destruct of the crown shilling from 1622-23.

One-sided print of the obverse (with its negative print on the other side) - so called "brockage", brakteat minting.

First time in our offer.

The shillings with the crowned letters S-R, minted between 1622 and 1623, are coins that, according to current findings, are attributed to Warsaw. The mysterious mint was known to numismatists as early as the 19th century, but it is still impossible to determine where it was located, in what years it operated and what coins it minted.
