The rarest and significantly distinctive type of "eagle and hare" denarii.
A type with the knight (prince) facing straight ahead (en face), instead of facing the captive.
In the company's history to date, we have had this type on offer only 1 time, during the sale of an outstanding medieval collection with its roots in the 19th century (10th GNDM auction). There, too, it was represented by this one piece out of 14 selected denarii of this type.
A different variety from the above-mentioned pieces - without additional marks on the obverse, with an additional star above the eagle.
Very nicely preserved and centering, well struck.
Rarity.
Silver, diameter 14 mm, weight 0.51 g.
