A very nice piece of the first bicroch of the Republic.
Slightly circulated, with clear mint freshness. Very attractive for this denomination.
A distinctive and typologically necessary denomination, minted in only one year during the time of Sigismund II. The Vilnius drachmas were introduced into circulation along with the foursquares as a convenient common currency for Lithuania and the Crown, since, as Marian Gumowski describes it, when evaluating Lithuanian coins for Crowns, one always received inconvenient fractions.... However, unlike the foursheets, their issuance was quickly discontinued.
Legendary variety: L / LITV.
Very rare.
