Rare denarius with three small wreaths (coronae triumphales) symbolizing the three triumphs awarded to Pompey, then also called Magnus. In his third triumph, he announced the victory of Rome, orbis terrarum (domination over the world), here symbolized by the globe. The fourth, particularly large wreath is the aurea crown, which Pompey received as extraordinary honor and which he could wear during the Games.

Reverse: globe surrounded by four wreaths, apluster in the left field, corn ear in the right field
