Lot description
Grade: XF/XF+
Reference: Parchimowicz-Brzeziński 60, Kopicki 2358 (R3), Plage 471

A very nice, glossy piece. Coin with cleaning marks typical of items of this type, most likely created during the storage of the collection in the 19th century.

The last of a series of four proofs struck in pure silver in 1771. The sentence PROBATUS MELIOR intended to inspire confidence in the money then being counterfeited on a huge scale by its Prussian neighbor.

The beautiful lightness of representation, typical of Holzhausser, makes this issue a great aesthetic impression.

Silver, diameter: 21.2 mm, weight: 2.54 g.
