An exquisitely preserved piece with virtually full mint freshness. Untouched relief and the fresh, intense mirror of a fresh stamp. Beautiful, cabinet-like patina. An excellent coin. A great rarity, unheard of in this condition.
Experienced believes as we are told on the reverse of this proof two-zloty coin, a 1771 issue, uncirculated, whose stamps were prepared by the royal court medallicist.
An issue alluding - both in images and slogans - to the purpose of its introduction, which was to supplant counterfeit coinage by introducing money struck in pure silver. Hence, on the present two-zloty coin we see a hand rolling the money on a proof stone and the slogan EXPERTUS CREDIT.
