Poland, Second Republic (1918-1939), Woman - Ears, 2 zloty 1924, mint Paris

circulating piece with no mechanical defects

silver 750, weight 9.83 grams

Literature: Fischer OB009, Parchimowicz 109a, Chalupski 2.18.1.b (R)

Piece of a two-dollar coin, with a gray natural patina struck at the French mint in Paris to a design by Tadeusz Beyer is thefirst of a series of circulating two-dollar coins of the Second Republic, not among the rarities, but still sought after in nice condition. All the 1924-1925 two-zloty coins (made of sterling silver and weighing 10 grams) were minted abroad in our country, in Paris, London, Philadelphia or Birmingham. They differ from each other in small details; London pieces have a dot after the date, American pieces lack it or are bit stamped inverted, Paris pieces have mint marks in the form of a horn and torch on the sides of the date, and those from Birmingham just the letter H placed after the year (the latter are also characterized by a slightly "slimmer" eagle).
