Ex Swiss Bank Corporation Auction 17 (27-28 January 1987), lot 1154. Very rare and extremely important! This coin was modeled after the earlier Bohemian Prag Grosz which had become so popular in Poland. It is the largest and heaviest silver coin struck in Poland up to that time, and it is the first use of the Grosz denomination. Casimir's attempt to replace the circulating Bohemian coin failed due to the lack of a viable silver source in Poland.
