Coin with a countermark depicting the crowned monogram of Charles XII. They were created during the siege of Riga in December 1705. The countermark raised the value of the coin by 100% - in this case to 10 Öre. In early January 1706, as a result of protests from the population, this method of artificially inflating the value of coins was abandoned. A rare and interesting issue.
