Set of 9 coins with the image of Pope John Paul II.
Each coin in a protective cap, all placed in a wooden oak case lined with cream-colored plush.
On the inside of the closure an oak plaque with the inscription: "John Paul II on Polish coins 2002-2005", the NBP logo and the set number in this case 03.
On Wednesday, June 29, 2005, the National Bank of Poland launched the "John Paul II 1920-2005" coin series and at the same time donated to an online auction three unique sets containing all the coins with the image of the Polish Pope issued in this century. Each set includes 9 coins from three cycles:
1) "Pontifex Maximus" - 2002 gold and silver coin,
2) "John Paul II - 25th Anniversary of the Pontificate" - a gold coin, a diamond-shaped silver coin and a two-gold coin of general circulation in Nordic Gold alloy from 2003,
3) "John Paul II 1920-2005" - four coins put into circulation on the day the auction began: a gold coin, a silver coin, a silver coin plated with gold on one side, and a two-gold coin of general circulation in Nordic Gold alloy.
Specification of the coins on the certificate, which is issued in Polish and English, additionally signed by the then president of the National Bank of Poland Mr. Leszek Balcerowicz.
